I have a new goal for the next gun show!

I didn’t grow up hunting, but have been interested for several years.  I recently completed my state Hunter Safety Course.  I actually learned a lot more than I thought I would given how long I’ve been shooting, and that I was an instructor for about 10 years.  However, my focus was always defensive.  Now…I’m looking at enjoying nature, and filling my freezer.  I’m not optimistic that the first year will be more than a learning experience but …should still be fun.

I have almost all the firearms I could need, but I’m looking to stock up on accessories, ammunition, snake shot for my .357, and clothes.  First being Snake Boots!  I HATE SNAKES! That is the one thing that scares me the most about hunting in the woods, well, that and other hunters who are also inexperienced, impaired or just careless.  But I will proudly wear my blaze orange, keep a eye out for others, and since I plan to be on private land or with a guide.

Gun Shows are like Theme Parks for shooters.  Some are big, some are small, all have bright shiny things to look at!  I’m fortunate enough to live where a large show is every three months.  So, just in time to gear up!!

Remember your safety rules and have a great hunting and shooting season!
